त्वत्संस्तवेन भवसंततिसन्निबद्धं
पापं क्षणात्क्षयमुपैति शरीरभाजाम् ।
आक्रान्तलोकमलिनीलमशेषमाशु,
सुर्यान्शुभिन्नमिव शार्वरमंधकारम् ।।

हे प्रभु ! जिस तरह सूर्य की किरणों द्वारा रात्री का समस्त अन्धकार नष्ट हो जाता है उसी तरह आपके स्तवन से प्राणियों का अनेक जन्म में संचित पाप नष्ट हो जाता हैं ।

As the black-bee-like darkness of the night, over-spreading the universe, is dispelled instantaneously by the rays of the sun, so is the sin of men, accumulated though cycles of births, dispelled by the eulogies offered to you.
As the rays of the sun quickly and easily disperse the total darkness of night which, being as dark and black as bees, pervaded throughout the whole world: similarly the continuous sins and crimes of all the living beings (which reference to this worldly succession) are easily destroyed by your praise.
