कल्पांतकालपवनोद्धतवह्निकल्पम,
दावानलं ज्वलितमुज्ज्वलमुत्स्फुलिंगम ।
विश्वं जिघत्सुमिव सम्मुखमापतन्तम्,
त्वन्नामकीर्तनजलं शमयत्यशेषं ।।

हे अग्रजिन !
सामान्य अग्नि की बात तो दूर प्रत्युत जंगल में लगी हुई वह प्रचंड आग भी जो कि प्रलय कालीन तीव्र हवा के झकोरों से धधक रही हो। जिसमे से चरों और चिंगारियां उड़ उड़ कर फ़ैल रही हो तथा जो समस्त भूमंडल को निगल कर भस्मासत करती हुई सी प्रतीत होती हो। वह भी आपके पवित्र नाम-स्मरण रुपी जल से सर्वथा बुझ जाती है-शांत हो जाती है।अर्थात आपका नाम-स्मरण-जल का कार्य करता है।

The conflagration of the forest which is equal to the fire fanned by the winds of the doomsday and which emits bright burning sparks and which advances forward as if to devour the world, is totally extinguished by the recitation of thy name.
The repeating of your name is the water, capable to put out the conflagration of the forest, which rising up inerrant kindled by wind (blowing) at the time of deluge, tossing up sparks and blazing up in flames, is as it were, going to swallow up the whole creation.
